On Their Last Day as Royals, Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Made One Major Change to Their Instagram

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may no longer be working members of the royal family, but they made one big change to their royal Instagram account before officially stepping down.

On Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a message of thanks to their 11.3 million Instagram followers and said goodbye. They shared an image that included their official royal cipher and read, “Thank you to this community—for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world.” They simply signed it “Harry & Meghan.”

However, before they officially shut down the account, it seems the duo made one major. Rather than only following one account, they now follow three.

Last year, the royal couple revealed that their social media will feature only one charity or organization each month. For the month of March (their last month as senior royals), Meghan and Harry highlighted @TanksGoodNews. The royal couple shared an inspiring video and explained their decision in the caption, writing, “This month, we continue on the good news path and are pleased to be following @TanksGoodNews, as a reminder of all the good that is happening in the world. We hope it uplifts and inspires you!”

And as of Tuesday, the couple now follows their picks for January (@goodnews_movement), February (@GlobalPositiveNews) and March (@tanksgoodnews).

So, while SussexRoyal may no longer be an active account, the Sussexes likely wanted to keep the focus of the organizations that mean so much to them. Subtle and sweet.
