Laval mayor files extortion complaint with Sûrete du Québec
Multiple news sources, including Radio-Canada, reported Thursday evening that Laval interim mayor Alexandre Duplessis has filed complaints with the Sûrete du Québec against two escorts.
The SQ confirmed they are looking into a complaint about extortion, but would not confirm any details.
However, Radio-Canada reported that sources at the SQ said Duplessis requested the services of a prostitute, who went to his chalet in the Laurentians accompanied by a female driver.
According to Radio-Canada's SQ sources, one of the two women recognized him as the mayor of the city under trusteeship and decided to cancel the encounter.
The women insisted on being paid despite the cancellation, allegedly returning three times to demand payment.
Radio-Canada spoke with an official from Duplessis’s office, who would only confirm that the mayor had filed a complaint about extortion.
The investigation is ongoing.
