On September 20, the Taber Public Library began hosting a Lego Club.
“The purpose of the club is to provide an opportunity for children that love Lego to build in an environment with other like-minded children,” Dawn Kondas, Program Coodinator for the Taber Public Library, said.
Kondas says that the club meets every Wednesday after school from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. throughout the school year minus school days off and holidays.
“The children meet in the Program Room at the library and build something of their choosing,” Kondas says. “The creations are then put on display here at the library until the next week. Some weeks there are Lego Challenges. If the children agree to participate, then they will receive a prize at the end of the session.”
The club, Kondas says, is for any school aged child that would like to attend and it is a fairly well attended ongoing program. In addition to the Lego Club, Kondas says, the library also provides a STEM program for kids.
