These Levi's jeans are my favourite for summer — here's why they're worth the price
"These jeans are so beautiful. The photos on the website do not begin to do them justice."
2023 marks 150 years of Levi's 501s, which, in my opinion, is one of the greatest and most versatile denim styles.
The 90s Patchwork Jeans were released along with several other iconic iterations of Levi's 501s, with finishes inspired by the greatest patchwork and repair jobs the brand has seen over the years.
Although this limited-edition style and other 501 Originals and 81s are not exactly "cheap," I believe they're incredibly reasonably priced for such durable, timeless denim.
Read on to find out why I think they're more than worth the money.
Levi's Premium 501 90s Patchwork Women's Jeans
I'll use the 90s Patchwork Jeans as an example, a five-pocket style with a vintage flair thanks to the variety of multi-coloured fabric swatches sewn onto the thighs.
Good denim usually is tough to break in and not the most comfortable, but Levi's has proven that doesn't have to happen.
The mid-rise 90s Patchwork Jeans have a loose, straight fit around the legs with just the right amount of bagginess.
The button fly closure keeps the metal fasteners away from the skin and keeps the jeans snug around the waist.
The no-stretch denim is a medium wash, yet it's not uncomfortably stiff, and loosens and forms to the body quickly.
Plus, the hem falls just below the ankle so you can wear it with various footwear.
'The quality is incredible!'
A quick browse on the Levi's site shows that reviewers love these jeans just as much as I do.
"These jeans are so beautiful. The photos on the website do not begin to do them justice," another 90s Patchwork Jeans fan commented. "I love how unique they are and how the fit works depending on what look you want to go for."
Other reviewers were simply charmed by the assortment of swatches sewn onto the legs, calling them the "best patchwork jeans."
"I have been looking around for awhile for patchwork jeans and I've finally found the perfect pair!" they wrote. "Elegant style, and can be dressed down or up. I highly recommend!"
Reviewers do say this style can run a bit big — so to get your desired fit, I recommend trying them on in person before buying if you're able to.
Whether you spring for the 90s Patchwork Jeans after reading this or go for another 501 style, I definitely recommend these classic jeans for spring and summer 2023 (and beyond).
Several styles are available for under $100 — and with these lasting for years (I recently retired my first pair of 501s after nearly a decade), the cost per wear is quite low despite the initial investment.
However, as some shoppers say these fit big, we recommend trying them on in person before buying if you're able to.
