Lexington coroner identifies victim of fatal Friday night shooting

Detectives with the Lexington Police Department are investigating a Friday homicide that took place on Russell Cave Road.

Officers were called to the 1400 block around 2 a.m. Friday regarding a shooting. They found a man with a gunshot wound; he was taken to a hospital, where he died, police said.

The Fayette County coroner identified the victim as 25-year-old Jaquan Grundy of Louisville. Police did not release any information on a possible suspect.

This is the city’s 12th homicide in 2024.
