Lifeguard service ends for season at P.E.I. provincial parks beaches

Some smaller P.E.I. provincial parks beaches no longer have lifeguard service.

Thursday was the last day of the season for lifeguards at Red Point, Northumberland, and Jacques Cartier provincial parks.

There is lifeguard service at Cedar Dunes until Sept. 1.

Signage will be in place to inform the public.

Lifeguard coordinator Adam Ross said there are precautions to take if swimming in an unsupervised area.

He says people should not swim alone, have children in arm's reach of an adult at all times, and be attentive of the weather and wind.
