Filming is currently underway for the sixth season of the hugely popular BBC police drama after it was suspended earlier in the year due to the coronavirus.
It seems it will certainly be worth the wait as Compston, who plays Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott in the anti-corruption squad, has divulged there is a "massive bombshell" in the upcoming season.
The new series will premiere on BBC One in 2021 and also see McClure and Dunbar return to their respective roles as Detective Inspector Kate Fleming and Superintendent Ted Hastings.
