Little boy hospitalized after shooting himself with a flare gun at Miami home: police
A child under the age of 5 was flown to the hospital after police say he shot himself with a flare gun at a Miami home Thursday afternoon.
At around 12:30 p.m., first responders rushed to the area of NW 103rd Street and NW 32nd Place after a little boy under the age of 5 got hold of a flare gun that was in a boat parked in the backyard of the residence, according to Miami Dade County Police.
A flare gun is a firearm designed to shoot flares, typically used for signaling distress or marking locations in emergencies.
Police say the child was airlifted to the hospital but is in stable condition.
It was not immediately clear if the child was being supervised.
