Local church Christmas services

Even in the face of a pandemic, local Christian congregations are set on commemorating the birth of Christ this Christmas. Locals interested in celebrating the true meaning of Christmas are encouraged to participate virtually or contact individual church representatives to inquire about in-person restrictions.

Spring Ridge Mennonite Church

The regular Christmas Eve service will be adapted to be held over Zoom, including a reader’s drama performed by children and youth. Pastoral leader Warkentin can be reached at 403-627-2232 or springridgepastor@gmail.com for more information.

St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church

Holy Trinity will be holding three masses on Christmas Eve at 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. There will be a 10 a.m. mass on Christmas Day, followed by a Zoom mass at 11 a.m.Most of St. Michael’s mass times are full. A few spots remain open for the 9 p.m. Christmas Eve mass and the 10 a.m. Christmas Day mass. People must register for mass in order to attend. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Virtual Christmas services and Bible studies are available at www.findingfaithinchrist.org. The website also offers free Bibles through the mail and ideas for family Christmas activities.

Trinity Lutheran Church

An online Christmas Eve service will be streamed Thursday at 7 p.m. at www.trinitylutheranchurch.ca, as well as the Church’s Facebook page at http://bit.ly/PCLutheran.

Creekside Community Church

A short communion service will be held in person and online Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. Links are posted to the Creekside Community Church Facebook page at http://bit.ly/FBCreekside.

Pincher Creek United Church

The Christmas Eve service will stream Thursday at 7 p.m. The service is currently part of a private Facebook group, but anyone interested in attending can request to join the Pincher Creek Pastoral Charge at http://bit.ly/PCpastoral.

Abundant Springs Community Church

A special 30-minute Christmas special will be posted Wednesday on Facebook (@abundantsprings), the church’s website (www.abundantsprings.church) and YouTube page (http://bit.ly/ABsprings).
