Loki season 2 lands high early Rotten Tomatoes score
Loki season 2 has landed a high early Rotten Tomatoes score as the first reviews flood in.
The second small screen outing for Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief is due for release on Disney+ later this week, arriving two years after the first season dropped.
At the time of writing, the new season has earned an impressive 81% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, with some critics suggesting the show stands out amid an arguably patchy recent run of projects from Marvel.

However, not all reviewers were heaping praise, with one questioning whether "there’s a way back for either the character or Marvel".
Here's what critics have been saying:
Empire
"With the multiverse teetering all around it, Loki is one strand of the timeline that is sustaining its originality and intention — and actually thriving. It’s about time."
TheWrap
“Loki 2 manages to make the whole, dicey multiverse concept work better dramatically than it has in any Marvel production since it was introduced in, well, 2021’s Loki. Can’t guarantee you’ll understand it after this season, but at least it won’t draw winces like it did in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.”
The Hollywood Reporter
"The plot is so convoluted that the sense of fun rarely breaks through, but thanks to the sterling cast and some of the best production design on TV, there’s almost always something to hold your attention — if not to trigger any emotional investment."
Evening Standard
"It’s all a bit wearying. When half the appeal of watching the show is hunting for Easter eggs that hark back to previous shows and the story’s predictable enough that you can call every twist, it begins to feel like the wheels are coming off. Does the Sacred Timeline really need protecting? Perhaps it’s time to let it wind down."
The Daily Telegraph
"These are dark days for Disney’s once unsinkable comic-book brand. On the back of the atrocious Secret Invasion, the last thing Marvel can afford is another stinker. Loki season two is nowhere near as dreadful. Instead, it is merely dreary and hollowed-out. Hiddleston’s silver-tongued deity has become the god of plod – and you wonder if there’s a way back for either the character or Marvel."
Loki season 1 is streaming on Disney+. Season 2 will premiere on October 5.
