London’s Tower Bridge has been closed after a serious collision on Tuesday evening.

TfL said the closure was due to a “collision” on the world-famous bridge,

According to the transport authority, the number 42 and 78 buses are on diversion in both directions "due to a collision".

It means they will not be serving bus stops for Tower Bridge and Tower Hill/Tower Gateway Station.

The 343 bus route is starting and ending at the Unicorn Theatre stop and will not be serving the remaining stops from or to Aldgate Station.

Pictures show police cars and an ambulance in attendance.

The incident began at around 4pm, during rush hour, according to traffic monitoring site Inrix.
