'Looking for someone with extremely sticky fingers': Nanaimo gelato heist going cold

Nanaimo RCMP are appealing to the public for help solving a unique cold case.

On March 4, $700 worth of handmade gelato was stolen from Waterfront Confections on Nanaimo's Front street.

Const. Gary O'Brien said at least 10 pails were taken from a locked container.

"Each pail would probably be at least one or two gallons — that's a huge amount of ice cream. There's probably a multitude of flavours," he said.

"What we're looking for is probably somebody with extremely sticky fingers and a massive brain freeze that probably lasted for at least two or three days," he said.

RCMP are asking anyone with information about the missing gelato to come forward before the evidence melts away.
