Liezl Panganiban and her husband Edgar Ebreo took home more than $1 million in lottery money after winning big in both Lotto 6/49 and Set For Life less than a year apart.

"We feel really blessed and very thankful to be winners," Panganiban said in a statement.

"It’s a special feeling," Ebreo added. "I can’t quite describe it."

Back in September 2020, the Coquitlam, B.C., couple won $500,000 playing the Extra from the September 26, 2020 Lotto 6/49 draw.

Panganiban and Ebreo have now won an additional $675,000 from the five-dollar scratch card game Set For Life. That's the top level prize for the Set for Life game and the BCLC has paid out more than $12 million in Set for Life prizes.

Ebreo bought the ticket at the 7-Eleven on Coast Meridian Road in Port Coquitlam and Panganiban scratched it to reveal their big win.

“When I saw the three cash symbols, I couldn't believe it, so I showed Edgar,” Panganiban said.

“I started dancing,” Ebreo added.

The couple has indicated that they are planning a family celebration, close to home, once it is safe to connect with people in-person. They also want to pay off their mortgage and hope to take to a trip to Hawaii, their daughter’s favourite travel destination.
