A pair of B.C. lottery winners “almost fainted” when they discovered their $5 million win.

“I will be able to help my family out and that is something I have always wanted to do,” Jesse Logan, one of the winners, said in a statement.

Logan and Teresa Winters Day from Nanaimo purchased a Mini Dip ticket pack at 7-Eleven, and ended up matching all six numbers in the Aug. 21 Lotto 6/49 draw. They had just started playing the lottery together.

“I will be able to spoil my kids,” Winters Day said in a statement. “I’ve always wanted to go to Disneyland…that’s the first thing I’ll do with my kids, and then go on a shopping spree.”

Logan and Winters Day were at home when they checked the BCLC Lotto! app and discovered that they won the jackpot.

Although they are still processing what to do with their winnings, Logan wants to share his jackpot with his family, before building a recording studio.

“We didn’t have much growing up but my parents did the best they could. I am excited to give back to them,” he said.

In 2019, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $64 million in Lotto 6/49 wins.
