‘Loud boom’ reported by Gig Harbor-area residents as power goes out Saturday evening
Power failed in the Gig Harbor area Saturday evening, affecting approximately 3,000 homes, according to a statement from Peninsula Light Co., the utility that serves the area.
The affected area ranged “from East Bay to Rosedale to downtown and surrounding areas,” the utility said at 6:30 p.m. on X, formerly known as Twitter. Residents reacting to the post reported hearing “a loud boom” just the power went out.
The utility posts outage information on its website, including maps and explanations of the restoration process.
