Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague celebrated her 21st birthday in lockdown earlier this week, and boyfriend Tommy Fury did everything he could to make it a special one.

For Molly's final present, Tommy revealed he'd got her a pomeranian puppy, which the pair quickly shared with fans on Instagram. "My heart has exploded," Molly wrote to her 4.1million followers, before adding, "I don't even have the words."

"His name is Mr. Chai," the Love Islander continued, before revealing she had made their new puppy an Instagram account of his own - @MrChaiBear.

And while the comment section has been flooded with some people obsessing over how cute Tommy and Molly-Mae's new puppy is, others have been questioning where the puppy came from.

Via The Sun, Molly-Mae revealed on Instagram Stories that her dog was being imported into the county, explaining, "He was meant to be here on my birthday btw guys but he's coming from Russia so there were delays etc."

Trolls and critics alike have since taken to Twitter and Instagram to slam the couple for this, questioning whether this classed as necessary travel during the coronavirus pandemic, and why they couldn't pick a dog already in the UK.

"Can anyone explain why Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury have got a puppy imported from Russia?????" one person wrote, while another added, "Molly-Mae's puppy is cute but how on earth do you even get a puppy imported from Russia normally never mind during a pandemic."

A third said, "There’s so so many fucking dogs in this country without homes as it is."

So far, neither Molly or Tommy have spoken out against the trolls.
