Love It or List It Co-Host Exits After 19 Seasons as HGTV Series Embarks on ‘New Chapter’
Hilary Farr isn’t lovin’ it anymore.
The co-host of HGTV’s Love It or List It announced Friday that she is leaving the home design series after 19 seasons. Meanwhile, her onscreen foil, real estate agent David Visentin, will remain with the show as “the network looks forward to a new chapter for Love It or List It,” HGTV’s head of content, Loren Ruch, said in a cryptically worded statement (one that made no mention of who, if anyone, would be replacing Farr.)

“It’s been a wonderful 12 years,” Farr shared in her own statement. “I’m so grateful to the network for their support and to my fans who have stayed loyal and true. David and I will remain friends forever and I expect him to be as fabulously and hilariously annoying as ever.
“Love It or List It has had such a true impact on so many lives, including mine,” she continued, “but now it’s time for me to embrace new challenges that have come my way. If this is my legacy, it’s a great one.”
Visentin called his decade-plus partnership with Farr “a wild, unforgettable ride,” adding, “Although we were rivals on the show, we became quick friends and share countless memories both on and off set. I look forward to continuing that friendship and wish her all the best in everything she does.”
The series, which premiered in 2008, found Farr and Visentin facing off to win over homeowners “at a crossroads” with their houses. Farr would renovate their current digs in an effort to get them to fall back in love with their home and stay put, while Visentin presented them with alternative properties to convince them to sell their house and move.
Farr’s solo series at HGTV, Tough Love With Hilary Farr, recently aired its second season and remains on the bubble for renewal.
