What lovely winter weather we're having this spring
Snow accumulation, slippery roads, and chilly temperatures.
That's a pretty typical scene in southern Ontario during the winter, but in April?
Don't be fooled: Spring is a temperamental season.

Snow made headlines in several regions of Canada this month. Parts of the Prairies, Quebec, and Ontario have had recent run-ins with downright wintry weather.
Sorry to break it to you, but spring snow is a near-annual occurrence in Canada.
"When will we finally see consistent spring weather? I hear that question every year," says Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham.

"But here's the problem: spring is consistently inconsistent. It's always a temperature roller coaster as we make the transition from winter to summer."
The better question to ask then, is when can people expect to see the consistent, warm weather that so many of us associate with spring?

"Here in Canada, we typically have to wait until the end of spring, or even early summer for that to happen," Doug says.
On the bright side, Canadians are resilient, especially when it comes to the weather, and many of us have learned to embrace unexpected snow.
