In poll-bound Delhi, Modi fans are carpet bombing student rebels on WhatsApp
An ongoing political battle of nerves, an upcoming state election, and agitated youth—India’s capital can’t ask for a more fertile ground for the mushrooming of WhatsApp groups. The past few weeks have seen dozens of them sprouting in Delhi, which goes to polls on Feb. 8. Phone numbers are being arbitrarily added to groups that carry names like Bharatiya Sanskaar (Indian Culture), Mera Bharat Mahaan (My India is Great), Saccha Desh Bhakt Group (True Patriot), and Bharat News (India News).
