Macon deputies needs public’s help in identifying suspect in early morning shooting

A man is in critical condition after being shot in Macon Monday night, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a shooting in Macon that happened early Saturday.

The shooting occurred at the Shell Food Mart at 4331 Pio Nono Ave. at 3:42 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office said.

Several people were loitering at the Shell Food Mart when someone started firing shots. A 25-year-old man was shot and was driven to a local hospital in a personal vehicle to receive medical care.

“He is listed to be in critical but stable condition,” deputies said in their news release.

By the time deputies arrived at the food mart, everyone loitering had left, the sheriff’s office said.
