Macon man faces murder charge after a deadly shooting, sheriff’s office says

A Macon man was charged with murder Thursday after another man was shot and killed last month, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jhuquan Lemarkies Dennard, 31, was arrested in the death of 36-year-old Christopher Wynes, of Macon. Wynes was shot and killed in the 5700 block of Satterfield Drive around 6:40 a.m. July 14, according to Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley.

Dennard was detained by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Task Force, then taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center just after 2 p.m. He was being held without bond, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The incident was still under investigation Thursday. Anyone with information related to the shooting was urged by deputies to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
