Watch 3 Amateur Cooks Make A Halloween Meal From Scratch Over Zoom
After attempting to make cheesecake from scratch over Zoom back in June, Tess, Chelsea, and Julia are back again for a special Halloween challenge. Using no guidance besides senior food producer June's lovely voice, the three tried to make stuffed Jack-O'-Lantern bell peppers (and Reese's bats for a sweet treat on the side).
Julia came out the winner after the cheesecake challenge, but this time, it was anyone's game. All of them were given the same shopping list to be sure they all had a fair playing field to start from, but from there, they were challenged to follow June's voice to try to make the best dish.
First, they had to prep all of their ingredients, which included cutting their bell peppers open to be properly stuffed and adding cut-outs to the front to make each pepper look like a mini Halloween Jack-O'-Lantern. From there, they have to make the stuffing using ground beef, rice, onions, cheese, and their preferred selection of seasonings. Each participant took it upon themselves to make the dish unique, with Tess stuffing tomatoes as well as a pepper.
When the peppers were put into the oven to finish up and cook, June then walked everyone through how to make Reese's bats using Oreos, Reese's, peanut butter, and edible eyes. To see who wins, you'll of course have to watch the full video for yourself, but fair warning: It will (somehow, believe it or not) make you hungry.
