Maitland Conservation awards contract for shoreline mapping

WROXETER – Three shoreline communities agreed to contribute to a special levy to cover the shoreline hazard mapping project’s cost along the 50 kilometre stretch of Lake Huron that is located within Maitland Conservation’s area of jurisdiction.

Central Huron, Goderich, and Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh all passed motions in February agreeing to this project, beginning in the spring.

Maitland Conservation issued a request for proposals in February and received two bids.

The criteria included a technical screening tool that scored relevant experience, project methodology, and staff professionals and equipment.

To be considered for part two, the bidders required at least 60 out of 75 possible points.

Both bids passed the technical screening in part one and moved on to part two. Part two of the scoring system was a price evaluation.

The shoreline LiDAR acquisition was awarded to Northway/Photomap/Remote Sensing Ltd. at a cost of $25,875 plus HST.
