Major fire erupts at factory in Saint-Isidore

An industrial building in Saint-Isidore-de-Lapriarie, about 30 kilometres southwest of Montreal, was evacuated when a major fire erupted.

The fire broke out at Kéfor Structures, situated at 175 Boyer Street, on Monday evening around 5 p.m.

The company builds structures made out of wood, and the building was also made out of wood. Firefighting officials say the two-story building is destroyed.

There were about a dozen workers inside at the time. Police said everyone made it out safely and no one was injured.

Boyer Street was blocked off to traffic for several hours while about 80 firefighters battled the fire.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
