Quebec's independent investigation unit is looking into the death of a 28-year-old man who suffered a heart attack during a police operation in Île-Bizard.
Montreal police were called to a residence at about 2 a.m. Monday, where the man was found intoxicated and involved in a domestic dispute.
He had a heart attack after struggling with police.
Police and paramedics tried to revive him, but his condition deteriorated and he was later pronounced dead.
The case was automatically transferred to the independent investigation unit, which takes over when someone dies or is injured during a police operation.
