Man, 30, dead after workplace accident in Mississauga

A 30-year-old man is dead after a workplace accident in Mississauga on Thursday, Peel police and paramedics say.

Peel police said the fatality happened in the area of Dundas Street E. and Wharton Way. Officers were called to the scene around 3:50 p.m.

According to Peel paramedics, the man was not in an environment safe enough for paramedics to perform life-saving measures. High voltage in the area had to be turned off before paramedics could proceed, they said.

Paramedics said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ontario's Ministry of Labour has been notified and is expected to attend, according to police.

Police have not provided details about the workplace.
