Man, 47, killed in crash near Pembroke

A 47-year-old Pembroke, Ont., man was killed in a single-vehicle crash west of the city Saturday afternoon, police say.

The Ontario Provincial Police's Upper Ottawa Valley detachment was first alerted to the crash near Highway 17 and Doran Road shortly before 4 p.m.

OPP said Donald James Switzer's sedan left the road and ended up on its side.

He was the only person inside the car at the time of the crash. He was taken to hospital but soon succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Officers are continuing to investigate and anyone with information can contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
