Man arrested in Red Deer after Ford Ranger collides with RCMP cruiser, other vehicles

Red Deer police arrested a man after a suspect in a pickup truck hit a police cruiser, and several other vehicles, and then fled on foot early Monday morning.

Police were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at the Easthill Shopping Centre in south Red Deer at around 8 a.m., RCMP said.

A man driving a Ford Ranger smashed into a police cruiser and several other vehicles before fleeing the scene into the Inglewood neighbourhood. No one was injured in the collisions.

Police contained the area and, with help from the RCMP K-9 unit, tracked the suspect to Illingworth Close, where he was arrested.
