1st-degree murder charge laid against Windsor man

A 34-year-old Windsor man appeared in court and was charged with first-degree murder Wednesday afternoon, said Windsor Police Service spokesman Const. Andrew Drouillard.

Police were called to a duplex residence in the 700 block of Brant Street at around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. A 52-year-old unconscious man was found at the residence. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 34-year-old man charged Wednesday was also at the scene and was placed under arrest.

Police say the victim and the accused are known to each other.

No other information was being released Wednesday afternoon as police continue the investigation, said Const. Drouillard.
