Man arrested after stolen Fed-Ex van crashes near Prince Albert

An 18-year-old man has been arrested after a FedEx delivery van was stolen Tuesday morning.

Police say a delivery driver was parked in front of a business in downtown Prince Albert, Sask., when a man jumped into the vehicle and sped off.

Prince Albert police followed the van as it crossed the North Saskatchewan River. It ignored a traffic stop and hit a police car before turning around and driving south out of the city.

Eventually, the van flipped over on its side and the suspect was arrested near the town of Hague.

Police say the 18-year-old from Prince Albert is facing nine charges, including assaulting an officer with intent to resist or prevent arrest, assault, operating a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public, committing theft of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while attempting to evade a peace officer and theft of a motor vehicle.

He's also facing several breaches of prior sentence orders.
