Teen charged for carrying bomb-shaped alarm clock in carry-on

One man is dead and another has been charged with second degree murder after an overnight stabbing in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police say they responded to a call at 1:30 a.m. reporting a man not breathing at an apartment building on Roche Court, near Erin Mills Parkway and Queen Elizabeth Way in the southwest part of the city.

Police say the victim was found without vital signs and suffered stabbing injuries. The man was involved in a dispute with another male at the residence, was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead, police say.

Police have identified the victim as Wayne Croft, 49, of Mississauga. His half-brother, 46-year-old Charles Croft, appeared in a Brampton courthouse today for a bail hearing after he was arrested and charged with second degree murder, police say.

Authorities do not suspect any other parties to be involved in relation to this incident and it's too early to know exactly what led to the stabbing.

There were several other adults in the apartment unit at the time of the incident and police say they are speaking with them to find out what happened.

Correction : An earlier version of this story stated the victim was 46 years old. In fact, the victim died at the age of 49. (Aug 01, 2015 5:13 PM)
