Man charged with second-degree murder in death of Ottawa woman

OTTAWA — Ottawa police say a man has been charged with murder and attempted murder after a woman was found dead on Christmas Day.

Police say they located a 46-year-old woman on Spadina Avenue in the city’s Hintonburg neighbourhood just after 6 p.m.

Investigators did not immediately provide further details on her death.

They say the woman is from Ottawa.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in her death.

Police say he is also charged with attempted murder in connection to a another person who since been released from hospital.
