Man charged in woman's death in northwest Toronto
A man has been charged with second-degree murder after a woman was found dead in a northwest Toronto apartment.
Toronto police were called to an apartment building on Kendleton Drive near Kipling Avenue and Albion Road on Tuesday.
Inside the apartment, a woman was found with obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has since been identified as 59-year-old Leah Edwards.
A post-mortem examination has determined Edwards died as a result of blunt-impact chest trauma.
Police say a man was taken into custody at the scene.
Ian Gray, 50, of Toronto, faces a single count of second-degree murder.
He is due to appear in a Toronto court on Friday.
