Man City vs Liverpool LIVE: Result and reaction from Premier League fixture tonight

Liverpool‘s first match since being crowned Premier League champions ended in defeat as Manchester City ran riot on Thursday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were given a guard of honour by Pep Guardiola’s deposed champions but that was as far as the respect went as City put on a show with a 4-0 victory. Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Raheem Sterling added a second shortly after. Phil Foden as good as ended the game as a contest just before half-time with a well-taken third before an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain own goal wrapped things up in the second half.
