Manchester City are three wins from finally sealing a much sought-after Champions League trophy.

Standing in their way at the quarter-final stage are French Ligue 1 side Lyon, who have struggled domestically this season but beat Juventus in the last 16.

City, for their part, saw off Real Madrid in the last round and will be confident of winning this tie too.

But there’s no room for error, with ties played over just one game now rather than two legs and the semis lying just a few days ahead.

Team news

Manchester City should have a fully fit squad to choose from, other than long-term absentee Sergio Aguero. Guardiola will need to choose between Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez in attack in particular.

Lyon are in similarly good shape and Rudi Garcia could name an unchanged lineup, though there is a case to recall Moussa Dembele up front in place of Karl Toko-Ekambi.

Predicted line-ups

Man City: Ederson; Walker, Fernandinho, Laporte, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Gundogan; Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling.

Lyon: Lopes; Denayer, Marcelo, Marcal; Dubois, Caqueret, Guimaraes, Aouar, Cornet; Memphis, Dembele.
