A suspect has been arrested following the stabbing death of a 37-year-old man in Scarborough Friday night, Toronto police say.
In a news release Saturday evening, police say a 27-year-old from Toronto has since been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
Officers were called to Morecambe Gate and Victoria Park Avenue shortly before midnight for unknown trouble in the area.
Police say two men were involved in an altercation and that one was stabbed with "a sharp edged weapon" while the other fled the area.
The victim was identified as Kirk Cargill of Toronto, who died in hospital.
The accused is set to appear in a Toronto court Sunday.
This is Toronto's sixth homicide this year.
