Police ID man killed in Toronto shooting

Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Toronto on Sunday.

Officers were called to the area of Eglinton Avenue W. and Times Road, west of Allen Road, at 6:19 a.m.

A man was found with gunshot wounds in a back alleyway north of Eglinton, and taken to hospital, where he later died. In a news release Sunday, police identified the victim as 37-year-old Brampton man Triston McNally.

Acting Duty Insp. Jeff Bassingthwaite said the shooting took place in the area of an after-hours club, which was open at the time of the shooting.

"The connection or relation to that is being investigated however at this time, there is no direct connection that we're aware of," Bassingthwaite told reporters at the scene.

Police have not released any suspect details.
