Shooting leaves man dead, woman injured in Ottawa's 8th homicide of 2016

Ottawa police continue to search for Jonathan Ranger — whom investigators say should be considered armed and dangerous — in connection to the Tuesday night shooting of his former girlfriend and another man.

The shooting happened just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at 2750 Farriers Ln. in the Blossom Park neighbourhood, near the intersection of Hunt Club and Albion roads.

A woman in her 20s — Katrina Galloway — and 30-year-old Nicholas Kim were both shot and taken to hospital by paramedics.

Kim was listed in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Galloway was listed in serious condition when she arrived at hospital and an update on her condition was not available Wednesday.

Jonathan Ranger, 32, is wanted by police in connection to the shooting. He is also wanted on outstanding charges of theft, mischief, breach of probation and assault stemming from an incident on Feb. 19.

Ranger is Galloway's former partner and they have a child together.

Ranger is described as a white man, standing six feet tall, weighing about 251 pounds with a heavy build, dark brown and balding hair, and brown eyes.
