Man dies after being found shot in parking lot near downtown Wichita, police say
A 50-year-old man died after being shot Saturday night in central Wichita.
Officers were sent at 7:50 p.m. to shooting call in the 600 block of North Topeka. They found the victim lying in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound, Wichita police spokesperson Kristopher Gupilan said Sunday morning.
The man, who is from Wichita, was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries, Gupilan added.
The man’s identity was not released, and the circumstances of the shooting are unknown. Police did not immediately respond to an inquiry for more details.
