Man dies after crashing stolen truck

A 30-year-old man who crashed a stolen truck in Orford Township Jan. 29 has died.

Chatham-Kent police reported the single vehicle accident occurred on Cochrane Line.

The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehcicle, was taken to hospital with critical injuries and passed away a few days later.

According to police, the black Chevrolet pickup had been stolen from a Tilbury residence.

In a media release, police extended their sympathies to the family of the deceased and out of respect the service will not be releasing the man’s identity.
