Man dies after pickup truck crashes into pole in Arlington, police say

Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased as 35-year-old Xavier Laurens Brumfield of Fort Worth.

A man died after his pickup truck crashed into a utility pole in Arlington early Wednesday morning, police said.

Officers responded to the intersection of South Cooper Street and Southwest Green Oaks Boulevard about 4 a.m. on Jan. 29 after they received reports that a Ford F550 truck had hit a pole.

The driver had to be removed from the truck by Arlington firefighters, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the driver as 61-year-old Kenneth Wade Wyatt, of Arlington.

Investigators believe Wyatt was driving south along South Cooper Street when his truck went off the road and collided with the pole.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt, police said. There were no passengers in the truck.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
