UPDATE: Identification made on drowning victim pulled from Millerton Lake
A man drowned at Millerton Lake on Sunday evening.
Millerton Lake Supervising Ranger supervisor Steve Barber said a 60-year-old Fresno man drowned shortly after 6 p.m.
A Good Samaritan pulled the man from the water at 5:40 p.m. before flagging down rangers who took over life-saving measures.
Rangers requested help from other agencies, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Barber said the man wasn’t wearing a life jacket in an unguarded shoreline. The man’s swimming ability is unknown, he said.
It’s unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the drowning.
