Man injured in downtown stabbing now charged with drug trafficking

Toronto police say a man who was injured in stabbing downtown on Sunday has been charged with drug trafficking.

The victim, 43, was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen by a suspect described as a white male, 5 foot 5 inches. The incident occurred at Sherbourne and Earl Streets, south of Bloor Street East at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Police said the suspect fled on Shuter Street and has not been arrested.

The victim was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
