A shocking crime took a twist via social media when a Florida man discovered his apartment had been turned into the scene of a murder investigation.

According to Fox 35, 24-year-old Katherine Jean Tonner allegedly shot her boyfriend in the head on Monday. After reportedly calling 911 from her parent’s house to say she had shot someone in her apartment, Tonner was taken into police custody.

Meanwhile, one of Tonner’s roommates learned of the news on Twitter and he immediately began live-tweeting to express his shock.

As more details about the murder emerged, the roommate (known only as @chaserojo on Twitter) continued to share his reaction with his followers. He tweeted out Tonner’s police mugshot photo and expressed his dismay about having to move, calling it a “big inconvenience.”

The roommate later tweeted out the news that police had put him up in a hotel while they investigated the crime scene at his apartment.

He continued to remain very active on Twitter throughout the following days, sharing details about the crime scene.

And it appears the roommate’s decision to move out of the apartment permanently was a rather easy one.

The thread of tweets reacting to the murder soon went viral, being liked and shared thousands of times.
