Man prohibited from driving in Canada owes $15K in fines

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary discovered a man who's prohibited from driving anywhere in Canada also owes more than $15,000 in outstanding fines.

RNC officers conducted a traffic stop and pulled over the driver around 2 a.m. Sunday in the east end of St. John's.

Police said the man's vehicle was not insured and he didn't have a registration for it.

The driver was charged with breaching probation and breach of an undertaking.

The vehicle was impounded.
