Man seriously injured when he was shot in Fresno. Police talking to multiple witnesses

A man was seriously injured Saturday evening when he was struck by gunfire in Fresno.

Fresno Police Lt. Marcus Gray said the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. at Second Street and Orleans Avenue.

When officers arrived, they located a man in his 20s with several gunshot wounds to the upper torso, Gray said.

He was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The motive to the shooting is unknown, but officers are interviewing multiple witnesses to see what led up to the shooting, Gray said.

“We don’t have all the information whether it was a drive-by or a walk-up shooting,” Gray said.

It’s unknown if it was gang related, he said.

It’s unknown what type of vehicle the alleged suspect was in, Gray said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
