Man shot and killed while driving near Longs in Horry County, SC, coroner says

The Horry County Coroner has released the name of the individual shot and killed in the community of Longs Saturday evening.

Scott Spivey of Tabor City was shot while driving on Camp Swamp Road near S.C. 9 West, said Tamara Willard, deputy coroner, in an email. The shooting occurred at about 5:50 p.m. on Saturday. Spivey died on the scene.

Willard said by phone she could not release any more information.

The Horry County Police Department is investigating and said there is no danger to the public.
