A Missouri man has been arrested after handing himself in over the murder of his 75-year-old father, according to police.
Jeffrey Goedde, 41, arrived at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in Hillsboro at around 11:40 am on Wednesday, Dec. 18, where he allegedly told police, “I made a mistake. I committed a crime, and I want to turn myself in.”
An autopsy conducted on his father Edward Goedde, later showed that he had been stabbed "approximately 50" times and suffered "broken bones, strangulation, and blunt force trauma to head, face and back," according to a complaint filed by the authorities on Dec. 19.
Goedde added that his dad “was unconscious in the kitchen” while “bleeding from his face and back” after being struck by weapons, according to the complaint.
He also added that he “may have used a kitchen knife” but couldn’t remember.

Manchester police noticed a strong smell of bleach when they approached the father and son’s home in the 100 block of Baxter Heights during a welfare check, according to the file.
Officers gained access to the home via a basement window and were told by the murder suspect that he “knows he was not free to leave because he accidentally killed someone.”
A kitchen knife was then located in a trash can near the 75-year-old’s lifeless body in the kitchen as they searched the property.
Officials allege that Jeffrey Goedde then requested an attorney and refused to answer any further questions.
