Man, teen die after three-vehicle head-on collision in Kansas, KHP said
A man and teen died after a three-vehicle crash Saturday in southeast Kansas.
The crash was reported at 3:57 p.m. along U.S. Highway 169 in Montgomery County, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.
A 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Joseph Savage, 45, of Coffeyville, was heading south on U.S. 169. Connor Barba, 18, of Norman, Oklahoma, was heading north on U.S. 169 in a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, according to the KHP.
The Camaro went left of the center lane and struck the Santa Fe head-on in the northbound lane. A 2012 Dodge Ram attempted to avoid the collision but struck the Camaro’s driver’s side.
Savage and Barba died at the scene. Barba’s passenger, a 41-year-old man, was taken to Coffeyville Regional Hospital with serious injuries, the KHP said.
The driver of the Ram, a 53-year-old man from Nowata, Oklahoma, was not injured in the crash.
