Man wanted for Leslieville homicide surrenders to police

Toronto police say a man wanted in connection with a homicide in Leslieville earlier this week has now turned himself in to police.

On Monday afternoon, police responded to a medical call at a building at 841 Queen Street East. A man was found bleeding and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later identified the victim as Martin R. W. Hauck, 56, of Toronto.

The next day, police announced the death was deemed a homicide, and a post-mortem examination would take place.

Police now say Glenn Gaetan, 25, of Toronto turned himself in on Thursday and is charged with first-degree murder.

He was scheduled to appear in court this morning.

They say Gaetan and Hauck were known to each other.

Police also say Hauck was shot, but nobody who heard the shooting had reported it to police.

They say the motive is unclear at this time.

They are asking for anybody who heard the shooting to come forward with information.

Huack's death marks the 16th homicide of the year in Toronto.
